Our journey to safe scents
Rose's story
It's a simple story. Rose had struggled with headaches that were increasingly worsening and was advised to detox fragrance. She started with her perfumes, then slowly began eliminating fragrance from all areas of her home. Then a slew of hormonal imbalance related health issues further incentivized her to clean up her home environment, with more urgency during her pregnancies. Then with two young children at home, she wanted something soft and safe for herself and her children to be around. And it had to be good for the environment too - her daughters are both fierce defenders of the outdoors, earthworm protectors, slug enthusiasts, and budding mushroom experts.
Karthik's story
Karthik had been working in the carbon capture and storage space on an industrial level but felt increasingly frustrated that he couldn't do more on a personal level to mitigate the climate crisis. After years of research, he and his partner developed a new way to safely lock away and store carbon dioxide forever. His first instinct was to try to get it into people's homes all over the world, and after many whiteboarding sessions with Bluey on in the background, Carbonrox was born.
