Working towards climate impact
This data will transform into a visual tracker once sales commence in October 2026
Definitions:
Carbon dioxide capture: When CO2 is captured and removed from ambient surroundings. Think plants and trees. And our Carbonrox ;)
Carbon dioxide mitigation: When CO2 emissions are prevented. Think use of solar or wind energy instead of coal or natural gas plants.
Carbon dioxide mitigation: 150kg
100kg of CO2 emissions mitigated through salvaging and upcycling 400 coconut shells, saving them from incineration, as of August 2026.
Carbon dioxide captured: 200kg
200kg of carbon dioxide (CO2) captured in our prototyping work as of August 2026, and removed permanently, by leaving the Carbonrox as planter rocks garden and as board chalk.
Here is the magnitude of CO2 capture and mitigation by one unit of each product type:
The Ritual:
Captured: 2500 gms (2.5 kgs) of CO2 from the Carbonrox
Mitigated: 150 gms of CO2 from the rescued shell
The Starter:
Captured: 400 gms of CO2 from the Carbonrox
Mitigated: 150 gms of CO2 from the rescued shell
The Traveler:
Captured: 225 gms of CO2 from the Carbonrox
We are not like any other company in the home fragrance market
Please note that these features in themselves do not make them automatically carbon negative. This is because there is footprint impact from the manufacture of the organic essential oil blends as well as every other part of the product. By using 100% recyclable and home-biodegradable components across every aspect of our product including the packaging and labeling, we reduce this impact.
And whatever is the gap to a carbon neutral footprint according to our calculations, we offset with the purchase of high quality carbon credits from reputable sources. Our longterm focus is on driving our footprint down to below zero so that even this act of buying carbon credits is not necessary. We believe that if all companies were to pursue such a strategy, the world would be a very different place!
